Q - I don’t have any electrical power
A – If you find yourself without power, check breakers and see if entire area is dark. If you do not have any power after checking your breakers, notify your Superintendent/Property Manager of the problem and carefully review your lease agreement for information on tenant responsibilities.
Q - I don’t have any heat/cooling
A – If you find that you are not getting any heat or cooling, first check the thermostat to see if it is on heat or cool. What is the temperature set at? If you do not see any change in temperature after adjusting thermostat, contact your superintended/property manager to notify them of the issue and carefully review your lease agreement for information on tenant responsibilities.
Q - I have a ceiling leak, what do I do?
A - Place a large bucket below the ceiling leak to catch water and control any more spillage. Contact you Superintendent/Property Manager to notify them of the problem
Q - My toilet won’t flush
A - Reoccurring problems within the unit are the responsibility of the tenant. It is important to carefully review your lease agreement for information on tenant responsibilities.
If the problem persist, contact a plumber – it is a tenant’s issue
Major equipment malfunctions are the landlord’s issues.
Q - My toilet is overflowing/hot water tank is leaking
A - If this is your issue, locate the tap at the bottom of the water tank and turn off the water. Contact your superintendent and notify them of the problem
Q - I smell gas
A - If for any reason you smell gas in your unit, immediately contact Enbridge contact info
Q - I smell smoke
A - At any sign of fire or smoke that you cannot identify the cause, call the fire department.
Q - What repairs are the responsibility of the landlord
A - Carefully review your lease agreement – Regular maintenance problems within the unit are the responsibility of the tenant and should be addressed if any issues occur.
Q - The lot has not been plowed
A - If your lot has not been plowed, ensure that the trucks are on route as unexpected bad weather can cause some delays. Please be patient as we attend to all properties.
Q - My vehicle has been plowed in – how do I get it out
A - The fastest solution is to shovel it out – It is the tenants responsibility to ensure they do not park in an area where frequent plowing occurs.
